Harvest Core Values: Evangelism, Power & Priority of Prayer
Evangelism & Missions: From greeting visitors on a Sunday to sending a missionary overseas to spread the Good News of the Gospel, this is where we engage the world around us. Our Connections Ministry is responsible for greeting people and following up with visitors. Our Great Commission Team administers our selection and support of missionaries around the world. If you have a passion for helping new people get involved, or if you have a heart for missions, this area might be a good fit for you when you are ready to serve at Harvest. For more information about the missionaries that we support, go to About Us and click on Missions and/or Leaders/Teams. If you would like to talk with somebody about serving in this area, please contact Pastor Scott.
Connections: The goal of this ministry is to help guide people through the various steps of ministry at Harvest. This is done by greeting each person as they enter the church, working behind the information table, collecting information about the people, helping people find their way in the church, or just giving out information about the church and its ministries. We help visitors through our Sunday morning experience – starting with worship and stepping into fellowship. We answer basic questions about service times and options, such as 10·25 Place, Sermon Forum, Nursery, Kingdom Kidz, and so on. We also pray with people when needed. Connection Team members are also asked to make it a priority to sit and talk with new people in 10·25 Place or Sermon Forum. We’re a catalyst for “connection” at Harvest.
Ushers: Our ushers are responsible for welcoming people into our church building and into the worship center. They work closely with the Connections Team. It’s more than simply handing out a bulletin; it’s helping people feel welcome and providing a genuine smile and handshake. Ushers are also available to provide extra assistance when needed and they collect our weekly tithes and offerings. The ministry of an usher is not too complex, but it’s very important to the weekly operation of our worship services. If you have a love for people and a desire to help welcome people, this might the area for you.
Great Commission Team:
This team administers and oversees our Mission Ministry. These folks select missionaries for our church support and they keep our church informed and educated on the important command to take the Gospel to ends of the world. We are committed to seeing God's kingdom expanded through missions as we focus on supporting missionaries around the world. Are you interested in missions? Please contact Pastor Scott.
Web Development: Are you gifted in the area of web programming or graphic design? Our Web site is becoming a crucial tool for communicating who we are and what we do; it's critical to our operation as a local church and we're committed to providing a quality web experience for people visiting our site. We consider our Web site to be Evangelism, because it's a global window to introduce people to Harvest. We realize that people will decide, or not, to attend church or contact us based on how we present our church on our Web site. We are interested in your expertise to help us maintain our web applications, including working on some new behind-the-scenes technology to help with our internal communications via the web. Interested? Contact Pastor Brian.
