Team 56 is our Student Bible Fellowship for 5th and 6th graders.
Team 56 meets on Sunday mornings at 10:25 AM, during our Education and Fellowship Hour (do not meet during the summer). Our aim is to meet the demands of “tweens” with an exciting, relevant lesson each Sunday. Team 56 often joins Kingdom Kidz during their Sing Out time as we encourage our students to interact and be good role models for our younger children. We meet in Room 200 between services each Sunday - see you there!
Here are some other things we have done...
Prayers: Worked on being more comfortable with sharing prayers and praying for one another by posting prayers on our cross and picking one and praying for that person.
Local missions: We took time to teach our Team 56 group how to be a part of missions in our church and in our community. The youth picked out what mission they wanted to do and they chose to do a Penny War in our church for the local food pantries. They also did a Cupcake Outreach in 10:25 Place where they had to take a cupcake and give it to someone they didn't know, asking that person if they could share the gift of a cupcake with them. This helped teach the kids about reaching out and sharing love to another person without knowing how they would respond; it helped them learn about sharing God's love to others. Some of what the youth have recently explored... - The 10 Commandments and how they relate to them in their world.
- The Fruit of the Spirit... ask the youth about the fruit ball game!
- What do Christians do? Love God, others, stay connected with God.
How do I worship with my life? Worship is more than singing and praying; it includes our actions and attitudes also. Becoming more familiar with the Bible - finding the table of contents, learning more about the New and Old Testaments, and more. - Here are some pics from the classroom, a summer picnic at the church, and a girl's sleepover...
