Serve!

Have you experienced spiritual growth through our ministry of steps?  Perhaps you've learned and matured during your time at Harvest, or maybe you've joined our family from another church where you previously served.  Either way, if you have grown in your faith to know that it's time to serve God through Harvest, you might want to consider being part of one of our Service Teams.

Our Service Teams provide a variety of behind-the-scenes leadership for the church.  This includes our Deacons, Elders, Building and Grounds, Stewardship, and more.  Members of these teams are people who are specifically gifted and skilled in the areas represented by each team.  We don't usually advertise or list all of the volunteer openings we have; if you are interested in helping in areas such as building projects, helping in the kitchen, assisting people with weddings or funerals, stewardship, accounting, and so on, we'd love to talk with you.

Buildings & Grounds

Our building and grounds crew takes care of the regular maintenance of our building and oversees special building projects that come up as our church continues to grow.  If you have any interest or skills that would be beneficial to the upkeep of our church building, we welcome your inquiry.  Please contact the church office for more information; they will get you in touch with the proper leaders.

Connections

This team oversees the welcoming and following up with new people to our church.  They also help people get around in the building, find the right room, and assist with any questions that might come up on a Sunday morning.  They are the people who shake your hand near the entrance and, word is out, they like to give out a free gift to first-time visitors. Say hi and ask about getting involved at the Welcome Center this Sunday.

Deacons

The work of deacons is that of serving tables - the table of the Lord, the table of the minister, and the table of the poor.  Thomas Collier, 1654.

The table of the Lord is the communion table of the Lord’s Supper and is served by preparing the elements of communion each month and the subsequent clean up.

The table of the minister is served by providing supervision of the areas of special transportation needs and meals for the sick.  This frees the pastoral staff to have more time to meet the spiritual needs of the congregation.

The table of the poor is served by managing and distributing funds from the benevolence fund.  A monthly offering is used for this purpose and, from these funds, we provide immediate assistance in the form of food and gasoline cards.  We also accept requests for more substantial assistance (rent and possible other needs) and review them at our monthly meeting.  All assistance provided is as a gift freely given. 

Elder Leadership Team

Our Elders are the spiritual leaders of the church.  This group of men is responsible for shepherding our people and providing godly leadership as they oversee the local church. Click here to email the ELT.

Children's Ministry Leadership Team - click here for more info

This team oversees the ministries that serve our families with children in the nursery through 4th grade, which includes scheduling for the nursery each Sunday and implementing the 252 Basics curriculum in Kingdom Kidz for our children. 

Nursery - Our nursery is available to serve families with children infants through age 4.  If you are an adult or teen interested in caring for our children for an hour or two on a Sunday morning, please contact our Children's Ministries Leadership Team.  A background check is required for the safety of our children.

Kingdom Kidz - Kingdom Kidz is for pre-school through 4th grade children.  We would welcome your interest in shepherding and/or teaching our children in small and large group settings. Do you love children?  Are you interested in seeing them grow in the Lord?  We have room for adults who love to teach, worship, and generally love children.  We’ll train you and provide all the materials needed each week and put you on a workable rotation that fits into your schedule.  Please contact our Children's Ministries Leadership Team.  A background check is required for the safety of our children.

Fellowship Leadership Team - click here for more info

This team works regularly to bring our church a meaningful fellowship experience each Sunday during 10-25 Place. They are the behind-the-scenes team that makes our coffee, gets snacks ready, prepares insightful teaching, and provides fun group activities during the fellowship hour each Sunday.  They are also working to bring new opportunities in the form of mid-sized fellowship groups to the church...and they are looking for people to join them in these efforts.

Great Commission Team

This team oversees all aspects related to the selection and support of missionaries.  They also work to educate our congregation on the importance of being missions-minded and help organize short-term missions projects each year. 

Kitchen & Events

The Kitchen Ministry at Harvest provides church members and non-members use of our kitchen and facilities, as well as assistance in planning meals and activities.  Our team provides help with social events, such as bridal and baby showers, weddings, funerals, etc., as well as providing refreshments at our Harvest activities like Worship in the Park and 10-25 Place.  Our Kitchen Team works hard to make sure each event is stress-free and memorable for the people we serve.

This team oversees all aspects of our small group ministries. Working directly with Pastor Brian, our Associate Pastor of Worship and Small Groups, they provide training and support for our volunteer small group leaders. Event planning, vision, and direction are provided by this group to facilitate discipleship through a variety of small group opportunities in the church.

Stewardship Team

Now it is required that those who have been given a trust must prove faithful.  1 Cor. 4:2

Our purpose is to oversee and manage all aspects of the financial matters of the church in order to make wise and efficient use of the resources entrusted to Harvest, provide the leadership with the information they need to make decisions, keep the congregation informed with a clear and easy to understanding picture of our finances, preserve and improve the financial integrity of Harvest, assure that all funds are used for the intended purposes, ensure the confidentiality of donors, be faithful and accountable to our congregation, our community, and, most of all, to God. Moreover, it is required in stewards that a man be found faithful.

This group of volunteers oversees the activities of our Youth Ministries for families who have youth in 5th through 12th Grades.  This includes Team 56, Middle School and High School ministry areas. 

Youth Ministries - We have numerous opportunities for you to serve as this ministry is growing.  Want to teach on a Sunday morning or lead a small group of teens in your home?  How about joining us during special events or lending a hand with organizing activities?  Our teens need strong role models and adults to come alongside and mentor them.  Please consider how you might be part of this important area of ministry - contact Youth Pastor Scott Guhlke today!

This team oversees the Worship Ministry at Harvest.  They work closely with Pastor Brian to keep things moving forward with our musicians, techs, and computer operators.
