The number one value that we hold at Harvest is to endeavor to apply the Scriptures to the life of our church. If the Bible says to do something, we give our best effort to do it. However, being a church comprised of imperfect people, we are in the process of applying Scripture to the life of our fellowship. Nonetheless, here is a list of our top priorities:
Power and priority of prayer. Recognizing the need of prayer places us in a position of dependence on God. Believing in the power of prayer gives us confidence that He will lead us in every aspect of our ministry.
Biblical preaching and teaching. Our authority is the Bible. It guides us, gives us accountability, redirects, and trains us for godly living.
Evangelism. Jesus prayed that God would send workers into His harvest field. Our desire is to be the answer to this prayer.
Authentic, vibrant worship. We believe that worship is both a venue for Christians to express their adoration and praise to God, and a tool in the hands of the Holy Spirit to reach out to unbelievers.
Godly, servant leadership. Jesus came to not to be served, but to serve. We desire to follow His example.
Gift-oriented lay involvement. God gives leaders to the church in order to equip the congregation for service. We desire that every believer discover his/her spiritual gift and passion, and then be empowered for ministry.
Life transformation. The hope of the Gospel is that we will grow in personal maturity to become more like Jesus, even though we will never be perfect.
Loving relationships. The Bible clearly teaches us that our first priority is to love God and our second is to love one another. Loving relationships provide the ideal environment for fellowship, spiritual growth, accountability, and even outreach.
Ministry excellence and innovation. God deserves our very best.
